The mayor of Kazan urged experts to work more actively to inform self-employed citizens about the new tax regime.
In Kazan, the number of registered self-employed today exceeds 10 thousand people, and the amount of tax revenues from their activities for 9 months reached 10.5 million rubles. The pace of registration of self-employed citizens should be increased by disseminating information about favorable legal working conditions, said the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at the XXXVI session of the Kazan city duma, which was held today in the City Hall.
“The main goal is to convince the self-employed to obtain the official status”
A pilot project on introduction a special tax regulation-a tax on professional income-has been operating in Tatarstan and four other regions of the country since 2019, reminded Deputy head of the Executive Committee Ildar Shakirov. "Our main goal is to convince the self-employed to obtain the official status, while receiving protection and support from the authorities," he said.
To support the self – employed, who have officially obtained this status, various events are regularly held in the city, such as educational lectures and seminars, as well as special fairs that allow entrepreneurs to sell their goods, the Deputy head of the Executive Committee added. For example, a festival of the self-employed and a fair in the Agricultural Park have already been held in the capital of Tatarstan. A special place for them is also allocated in almost all city festivals – such as Sabantuy.
The self-employed persons need more specific financial support measures
The mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin asked the self-employed Leysan Yarullina about the challenges she had to face in her of work.
L.Yarullina noted that today the self-employed lack specific financial support measures. "We cannot obtain subsidies. The opportunity to receive financial assistance for the purchase of the expensive equipment on favorable conditions would help us a lot, - L.Yarullina shared her opinion. - We also believe that it is necessary to conduct courses for the self-employed to increase financial awareness, business and marketing training. And continue to provide spaces for the sale of products on a regular basis". Moreover, most of the self-employed are not sufficiently informed about all the advantages of the new tax regime, L.Yarullina added.
Today, mechanisms of financial support for the self-employed are being developed in the Republic, Deputy Minister of economy Natalia Kondratova noted in her speech. In addition, the Federal law on the development of small and medium-sized businesses is amended to allow the self-employed to receive all measures of support for their business on a par with individual entrepreneurs. Work on supporting the self-employed citizens in the Republic will continue, she added.
"There is a lot of work ahead for us and our colleagues. It is necessary to increase the information campaign. It is necessary to work more actively to inform the self-employed about the new tax regime", - the mayor concluded.
