The Contest Commission on grant support for the self-employed held a meeting at the Executive Committee of Kazan.
The third stage of the contest for grant support for the self-employed is being held in the capital of Tatarstan. 50 winners will receive up to 100 thousand rubles for the development of their own business. Today, Ildar Shakirov, Deputy head of the Executive Committee, chaired a meeting of the Contest Commission, which reviewed the portfolio of grant support applicants.
For information, the decision of the Kazan Mayor to launch the third stage of support for the self-employed was announced at the festival of the self-employed at the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest. Under the terms of the contest, 50 self-employed citizens of Kazan will receive grants up to 100 thousand rubles. For these purposes, the city budget allocates 5 million rubles.
The first two stages of the competition proved to be successful and found a positive response from the self-employed.
At the third stage of the contest, 130 applications were submitted in a month. The following criteria were assessed: as of September 1, 2020, applicants must have a residence permit on the territory of Kazan, the status of self-employed for at least 3 months, and professional tax paid at least 5 thousand rubles. In addition, individual entrepreneurs, bankrupts, or people with a tax debt were not allowed to the contest. As a result, after preliminary selection, the number of applicants for grants was reduced to 96.
The compliance with specified criteria is not enough – according to the Chair of the Commission, it is important that the application states the specific purpose for which the grant will be spent. Members of the Commission are convinced that the money should be used only for the development and maintenance of professional activities.
The results of the Contest Commission meeting will be announced in the near future.
