Igor Krutoy: “A Good wave - is more than words, but deeds”

Within a few years, the Kazan-born festival united Russian cities from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok.

Today Kazan hosts a gala concert of the all-Russian cultural and charity festival of children creativity “A Good wave” for the third time. Before the performance, the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, people's artist of Russia, composer Igor Krutoy, famous Russian performers Yulia Savicheva and Yulianna Karaulova met journalists and shared their opinions about the festival. “A Good wave” is a big, beautiful, kind and warm story. I am glad that it reaches all parts of our homeland. Moreover, we attract attention of people who can really help. We reach the philanthropists quietly dispersing a wave”, - Ilsur Metshin noted.

“You see the result: the help reached a particular child and how it affected the fate of each of the children. “A Good wave – is more than words, but deeds”, - said people's artist of Russia, composer Igor Krutoy. In 2017, together with Ilsur Metshin, he initiated the project “A Good wave”. The festival is aimed at promoting the creative development of talented children, including children with disabilities and those in difficult situations”.

Over the years, the festival has expanded its presence and enlarged, the number of people who are not indifferent to the project has increased. This year, three new cities joined the project: Yaroslavl, Rostov-on-Don and Kaliningrad. Qualifying competitions were held in 11 cities, including Kazan, Sevastopol, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Kursk, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Moscow. In total, about a thousand talented children took part in the regional rounds of the festival. The winners were identified in the following areas: music (vocal, gesture singing, fingering), choreography, performing arts (specialty, staged reading). The total number of winners of the regional competitions, who showed their skills on November 29-30 at the final round, amounted to 110 people, 13 of them – from Tatarstan and 6-from Kazan.

A gala concert of the festival takes place today in the concert hall “Academy”. Together with the winners, famous Russian singers Yulia Savicheva, Yulianna Karaulova, Yolka and M-Band will perform. All money from the gala concert will be used to support 13-year-old Ayrat Zainetdinov - an orphan boy needs a hearing aid to compensate for hearing loss.

The festival “A Good wave” is a platform for joint creativity of all children, regardless of their physical health. On one stage, children from orphanages, children left without parental care, children from large and needy families and children with disabilities will show their creative abilities.

The event is held by the Mayor's Office of Kazan and Igor Krutoy’s Academy of popular music with the support of the government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Presidential Grants Fund and the charity development assistance Fund “Good Kazan”.
