<p> The number of coronavirus cases in Kazan and Tatarstan increased twofold compared to last week. The growing figures of COVID-19 indicate that the plateau has not yet been reached and all the measures taken by the Russian and Tatarstan government are reasonable. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, shared this opinion at a meeting of the city headquarters for combating the spread of coronavirus infection at the Executive Committee of Kazan. “The current situation requires very conscious and responsible behavior from everyone, first of all in relation to personal health and the health of others,”- he emphasized. </p> <p> Gulnara Gaifullina, deputy head of the health department of the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan, reported that the number of newly identified patients is increasing. As of April 26, the total number of infected people in the world exceeds 2 million 800 thousand. “More than 800 thousand of them recovered, and more than 200 thousand people died,”- she said. – “Currently, the highest number of confirmed cases in the world are registered in the United States, Spain, Italy, France, and Germany. Russia ranks 10th in the world in terms of the number of cases.” She reported that in Wuhan (China), which became the epicenter of COVID-19, as of April 25, there were no patients with the coronavirus. The last patient, who was in a serious condition, recovered on April 24. </p> <p> On April 26, the number of infected people in Russia was 81 thousand people. Which is 6 361 people more than the day before. Compared to the previous week, the number of cases increased twofold, said Gulnara Gaifullina. During the pandemic, more than 6 700 people have recovered in the country, and 747 people have died since the beginning of the pandemic. The most severe situation with coronavirus is in Moscow, the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, and the Nizhny Novgorod region. In other regions, the number of cases does not exceed a thousand people, said the deputy head of the health department of the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan. </p> <p> As of yesterday, the number of cases in the Republic of Tatarstan was 562 people. Last week, the number was 191 people. Among the infected are 249 Kazan citizens, last week there were 103 of them. 80 cases have been confirmed in Naberezhnye Chelny, G.Gaifullina informed. 57 people recovered in the Republic, including 41 in Kazan. </p> <p> For information, 70 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in Tatarstan over the past day, 31 of them in Kazan. In addition, 18 people have recovered over the past day, 12 of them in Kazan. </p> <p> “Today, there are cases in all 85 Russian regions. I am glad that Tatarstan is one of the ten regions with less than 1000 cases with no deaths as for today.
