The Mayor of Kazan visited kindergarten No.248 and apartment building at 11/14 Sotsialisticheskaya Street which have a leak on the roof.
The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin held a visiting meeting on the overhaul program of apartment buildings and social facilities. The head of the city visited kindergarten at 35a Fatykha Amirkhana St., 35a and apartment building at 11/14 Sotsialisticheskaya Street. They are united by a mutual problem – a roof leak. After the appeal of parents of preschool children and residents of the building to the Open Kazan system, I. Metshin personally visited the facilities to speed up the solution of the problem.
The kindergarten No. 248 for 220 children was built in 1977, and since then there has never been renovated. The total area of the roof of the building is 1,200 sq.m. Director of the preschool Lilia Sevastyanova noted that the roof in the building has been leaking for a long time. “Every year we carried out maintenance works, the roof was tared in places of leakage. But it had a temporary effect,”- explained Lilia Sevastyanova.
This year, the problem has worsened – leaks on the second floor are observed both in the corridors and in the rooms where children are engaged. Because of this, one of the 11 groups temporarily closed in January. To ensure that the educational process was not interrupted, 14 kids were divided into parallel groups. A total of 195 children attend preschool.
“As soon as the weather conditions permit, it is necessary to immediately start roofing work. This is our priority, our responsibility to parents, - the head of the city said. – In kindergarten No. 248, windows were changed, utilities were repaired, nevertheless a renovation was required in the building.”
Today there are 326 preschools in Kazan, including 313 kindergartens, 2 preschools and preschool departments at 11 schools. Kindergartens of Kazan are attended by 74,126 children.
The visiting meeting continued in the three-storey apartment building at 11/14 Sotsialisticheskaya Street in the Aviastroitelny city district. The house was built in 1950, its residents left applications in the Open Kazan system about a leaking roof, because of which several apartments were damaged.
Iskander Giniyatullin, deputy head of the Executive Committee, told the head of the city that the roof of this building was last repaired in 2006. During this period, the property management company repaired the entrance and chimneys, replaced the ceilings. The work was carried out as part of the maintenance work. Over the past few years, according to the overhaul program, the heating system was replaced, as well as water supply and sanitation systems, electricity supply, regulation units for thermal energy were installed.
The head of the city visited one of the apartments where there was a leak, and talked with the owner. She said that during the rains, the ceiling leaked in one of the rooms, and now repairs are being carried out there.
For reference, this year in Kazan, under the overhaul program, work will be carried out at 195 apartment buildings, where almost 50 thousand people live. Repair of heating systems, facades and roofs will be completed before the start of the heating season – September 15, all other work – by November 1.
