<p> Following the results of the summer season in Kazan, there has been a significant decrease in the number of fatal accidents on water. In total, 24 incidents occurred during the summer, four people died, including one child, while the previous year there were nine fatal accidents on the water. This was reported by Sergey Chankin, head of the Civil Protection Department in Kazan. </p> <p> «We made a good job, but there are sad statistics, although this figure is two times lower than previous year, our task for the future is to work even more convincingly in terms of preventive measures,»- said the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. </p> <p> The Mayor also expressed hope that with the development of beach infrastructure, the behavior of residents and tourists would also improve. «We sincerely hope that beach recreation culture and infrastructure will improve in the future, as the 'Kazan is a City on the Water' concept is implemented. This is a large project that requires comprehensive planning, which we are currently undertaking,» - he said.
