I.Metshin on the road repair program: “This is government investment in the quality of life of citizens and in business development”

Record 22 billion rubles have been allocated for the modernization of the road network – 41 sections of streets are planned to be updated.

This year, record 22 billion rubles have been allocated for the repair and development of the road network in Kazan. It is planned to repair 41 sections of streets, install new traffic lights, continue construction of the Voznesensky Tract, the Gorkovsky Highway relief road, and complete work on the next section of the Great Kazan Ring Road.

“Thanks to the support of the federal and regional government, we are implementing large-scale projects, opening new directions important for the transport development of the city. A record amount has been allocated for the repair and modernization of the road network this year. This is government investment in the quality of life of citizens and in the development of businesses that require good logistics”, - Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, reported today at the Business Monday meeting.

Repairs under the national project have already begun on four streets of the city

Three billion rubles are allocated for the repair of the road network in Kazan this year. In addition, about 1 billion has been allocated under the Safe High-quality Roads national project, Deputy head of the Executive Committee Igor Kulyazhev said.

He reminded that this year, according to the national project, sections of 6 streets with a total length of 8.4 km will be repaired. It is planned to repair the asphalt pavement of roadways, sidewalks, install fences, road signs, outdoor lighting elements and traffic lights.

“The repair of the most worn–out sections of roads and driveways will also continue, - said I. Kulyazhev. – The list of objects includes streets for which the largest number of complaints from citizens have been received. 32 streets will be repaired taking into account the appeals of Kazan residents”.

1,700 lamps will be installed in the settlements of Kazan

Under the program for the installation of outdoor lighting in the settlements of the republic of Tatarstan, it is planned to install 1,700 lamps at 33 residential areas of the city. New lighting will be installed on 130 streets.

Preparations are already underway for the reconstruction of Osinovskaya street, noted I. Kulyazhev. The new road will significantly improve the traffic at the exit from the Salavat Kupere residential complex.

According to I.Kulyazhev, access roads with a total length of 2 km will be repaired in four gardening companies.

“It is necessary to ensure high quality of road works”

This year, the construction of major road facilities will continue in Kazan, including the Gorkovsky Highway backup road from Nesmelova Street to the M7 Volga highway. “The construction of a four–lane road from Admiralteisky Pond to the Temple of All Religions with a length of 4.7 km is being completed,”- I. Kulyazhev said. The first section of the road from Nesmelova Street to Admiralteisky Pond with a length of 1.5 km is already competed.

The work is underway to expand the Gorkovsky Highway. As I.Kulyazhev noted, design and preparatory work has begun.

Construction work is also underway on another site in Kazan – Voznesensky Tract. “All work is proceeding according to the planned schedule”, - the deputy head of the Executive Committee emphasized.

By the end of August, the construction of the Great Kazan Ring Road on the section of Mekhovshchikov Street from Magistralnaya Street to Devyataev Street with a length of 1.7 km. is planned to be completed.

In addition, he added that construction of an underground pedestrian crossing with elevators for disabled persons continues near the city hospital No.18 and the Maksat football arena on Mavlyutova Street.

“It is very important that the road sector in the city does not depend on imports and provides jobs. Road construction is an excellent anti-crisis pill for Kazan. A huge amount of work is planned, and we are ready for it. It is necessary to ensure high quality of road works. All works should be done at a high level”, - the head of the city noted.
