I.Metshin on the Our Yard program: “We have taken into account the wishes of residents – recreational areas will be equipped in the yard”

Kazan Mayor inspected the progress of the improvement of the yard on Meridiannaya and Chetaeva Streets with 16 additional parking spaces.

Since the beginning of the year, 90 yards with a total area of almost 100 thousand sq.m have been improved in Kazan under the Our Yard republican program. This is 35% of the total number of yards, the improvement of which is planned in the city in 2022. Today, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin has inspected the progress of improvement of one of them in the Novo-Savinovsky district.

“All improvement works at this and other sites are carried out according to agreed timelines. Soon, the improved yards will delight 1,200 Kazan residents living nearby. We have taken into account the wishes of residents – recreational areas will be equipped in the yard, as well as 16 additional parking spaces”, - I.Metshin noted.

The yard, which is more than 20 years old, is located at 11 Meridiannaya Street and 58, 60, 62 Chetaeva Street. As reported to the Mayor by the head of the administration of the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts Fanis Nurmukhametov, construction work on the territory began in mid-May. During this time, workers equipped sidewalks and covered them with crushed stone.

Further, according to the work plan, it is necessary to build a playground with a play complex and swings, to equip a place for active recreation – a basketball ground and workout equipment, as well as to install benches in the recreational area.

“These decisions were made after meetings with local residents. For example, elderly residents asked for a quiet recreational area. It was important for them to set up benches in the shadow area and near the entrances. Parents asked about playgrounds for children of different ages. At their request, a children's and sports complex will be installed in the yard”, - said the head of the administration of the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts.

In addition, asphalt pavement will be replaced in the yard and the number of parking spaces will be increased – additionally, drivers will be able to place 16 cars. Lighting and litter bins will be installed, and premises with utility networks are planned to be decorated with graffiti. “This will make it possible to inscribe the building into the general concept of yard improvement”, - F.Nurmukhametov noted.

The yard is planned to be completed by mid-June. After the completion of construction work, residents together with employees of the management company will decorate the yard with flowers. But even now the employees of the property management company do not waste time: they are replacing the entrance doors and have already managed to plant a spruce tree in the yard, also they have to renovate the solid municipal waste collection area.
