The Mayor of Kazan inspected the progress of overhaul of low-rise buildings on Avangardnaya Street.
In the Privolzhsky district of Kazan, overhaul of two low-rise apartment buildings is underway: at bldg. 4 and bldg.5 on 62 Avangardnaya Street. The works started in April, to date, they have already been completed by 60%. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, got acquainted with the progress of the work.
“Over the past 10 years, 3,200 apartment buildings were renovated in the capital of Tatarstan. This is a large amount of housing stock in Kazan, but I am glad that we finally start works on renovation of the two-story buildings”, - the Mayor said.
Last year, the new “Avangard” square was landscaped in this residential area. As a result, a modern public space was opened for local residents with areas for recreation, sports and various activities, as well as playgrounds. It was then that the residents of the microdistrict requested a renovation of these two low-rise buildings on Avangardnaya Street. “They asked us to carry out renovation. This year we will complete works at the remained two-story buildings in this district, which were built 50 years ago. People, of course, have been waiting, so today we can make them happy and say that we will complete works soon”, - Ilsur Metshin said.
Two-story buildings with two entrances on Avangardnaya Street were built in 1960. Each of them has 16 apartments. Dmitry Anisimov, chair of the Committee of Housing and Utilities, told Ilsur Metshin that there were no renovation works before here, only repair was carried out. “We thank residents for doing what they could on their own, now it's our turn,”- the Mayor said.
The roof and the sewerage system have been almost completely replaced, and the rest of the work on the utility networks is planned to begin after the end of the heating season. In addition, the facades of buildings are being repaired, the entrances will be completely renovated, in particular, the handrails will be replaced and the stairs will be re-equipped. All work is expected to be completed in November.
In 2021, it is planned to renovate 295 houses in Kazan (for comparison, 274 houses were included in the program last year). For these purposes, it is planned to allocate a record amount – more than 2.8 billion rubles.
I.Metshin called on Kazan residents to control the renovation progress in their homes. “Keep it under control, please contact us. If you have any suggestions, then the property management companies and contractors will definitely hear you. And if someone does not want to hear, please report to Open Kazan and People's Control systems. We will solve these problems together”, - the Mayor concluded.
