I.Metshin on the renovation of educational institutions: “With experience comes quality and reliable contractors”

<p> This year, 17 schools, 4 kindergartens and 21 school canteens will be renivated in Kazan. Pyotr Korolyov, Director of the Department for the Maintenance of Social Institutions of the city, announced plans to overhaul educational organizations at the Business Monday meeting today. </p> <p> Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted that traditionally the city carries out large amounts of repairs of educational institutions. “This year we plan to renovate seventeen schools and four kindergartens, - he stressed. – In 2013, we were proud of the fact that we built 14 interchanges, 40 pedestrian crossings, ground and underground, as well as social facilities at the same time. Twenty schools that we were overhauling at that time seemed incredible,”- the Mayor said. </p> <p> In 2022, 71 social facilities were renovated in the capital of the republic of Tatarstan, 51 of them are educational institutions, the head of the city noted. "With experience comes quality and the reliable contractors. Any social institution is easier to build than to renovate – somewhere the educational process does not stop, somewhere it is necessary to work in a short time. The quality of repair work is increasing along with experience,”- the Mayor said. </p> <p> “The development of the infrastructure of social institutions, as well as their maintenance in a regulatory state is one of our priorities,”- the Mayor continued. “In 2012, the Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov initiated the program of overhaul of schools that are over 30 years old. Thanks to this program, 106 schools were renovated - the roof, utilities, pipes, windows. There was a program for the development of education, a federal program for the overhaul of schools. We hope that with these two programs we will finally overcome the problems that have been accumulating in our social institutions for decades,”- the Mayor said. </p> <p> In 2023, 16 schools are planned to be overhauled under the Development of Education federal program, 135 million rubles are allocated for each of them. The roof, window blocks and entrances, utilities, assembly and sports halls, classrooms will be overhauled. It is planned to replace equipment, furniture and inventory. Additionally, on behalf of the Head of Tatarstan, this year the main building of the school No. 93 of the Sovetsky district, built in 1964, will be overhauled. </p> <p> According to Pyotr Korolyov, a list of schools has already been formed to carry out repair work under the federal program for 2024-2025. </p> <p> Last year, 31 school canteens were also repaired in the capital of the republic of Tatarstan, 297 million rubles were allocated for this. 144 canteens are already operating in the format of a school restaurant – this is 78% of their total number. “These are completely new conditions for children's nutrition: modern kitchen equipment, cozy canteens, comfortable furniture, an increased number of seats,”- P. Korolyov noted. According to him, this year repairs are planned at 21 canteens in the amount of 220 million rubles. </p> <p> In conclusion, P. Korolyov noted that in 2022, with the support of the city budget, current maintenance was carried out at 213 educational institutions for a total of 254 million rubles. The roof was repaired at 22 facilities, window blocks were replaced at 38 schools, and scheduled repairs were carried out at 113 facilities. </p>
