I. Metshin: “No region has such unprecedented overhaul programs”

For 7 years, 135 schools and 65 kindergartens were overhauled in Kazan.

(KZN.RU, August 26, Ksenia Shvetsova). For the past 7 years, 200 educational facilities have been overhauled in Kazan: 135 schools and 65 kindergartens. Such impressive results were achieved thanks to the republican programs in the field of construction and overhaul, which are currently being implemented in Tatarstan, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, at the Business Monday.

Iskander Giniyatullin, the deputy head of the Executive Committee, reported on the main results of the overhaul of social facilities. From 2012 to 2018, 135 schools older than 1981 were built in Kazan for 3.46 billion rubles. More than 78 thousand schoolchildren study in these schools. And since 2015, kindergartens older than 1983 were included in the overhaul program of educational institutions along with schools. Over 4 years, 33 kindergartens were repaired, which are visited by more than 5700 children.

In addition, 6 kindergartens and 26 groups were restored in existing pre-school educational institutions in 2015, according to the Road Map project. They managed to create 975 additional places for children from toddlers to graduation groups.

“In total, over 7 years, 200 educational facilities totaling 5 billion rubles have been repaired in Kazan”, said I. Giniyatullin. Complex overhauls have never been made in these buildings. At the same time, the oldest kindergarten №30, renovated last year, turned 83 years old.

Significant results in the sphere of updating social facilities were achieved thanks to republican programs, noted Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. He reminded that in total, 40 programs in the field of construction and overhaul are currently being implemented in Tatarstan.

“These social programs of our president are the property of the republic. They improve the lives of people of all ages”, said I. Metshin. “We kept kindergartens, schools, teenage clubs, did not turn them to shops or pharmacies. The buildings are old, so it was difficult. But we managed, thanks to Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT. The numbers speak for themselves. 135 schools have been repaired and 65 updated kindergartens are already welcoming the kids. Except for Moscow and St. Petersburg with their great potential, not a single region can boast such unprecedented programs that will qualitatively improve people's lives”.

This year, 17 objects were included in the overhaul program of educational institutions: 16 kindergartens and 1 boarding school №2 of the Moskovsky district for a total of 651 million rubles. During the repair, the roof, facade, entrances, sanitary units, utility networks, blind areas are updated, windows, internal doors are replaced, In addition, this year, according to the results of a thermal imaging inspection, the facades of 10 kindergartens are insulated, 48 schools are renovated for the first time, 30 gyms, 39 school canteens and 10 assembly halls are overhauled. In total, 1.5 billion rubles were allocated for all these purposes from sources of the consolidated budget.

“Almost 3 thousand students who will receive modern comfortable safe conditions for development will go to repaired institutions in September”, concluded I. Giniyatullin.
