The Mayor of Kazan participated in the online conference “Innovations and Smartcity combating the pandemic”

The event was organized by the International Assembly of capitals and major cities of the CIS countries.

I. Metshin noted that now all cities are experiencing tough times. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, there is now a breakthrough in IT technologies, the Mayor of Kazan said. “They are aiming not only at improvement of the living standards in the city, but also to support in case of global disasters, - Ilsur Metshin said. – Many of the measures taken by municipal authorities during the pandemic were made on the fly, but these decisions allowed the concept of a smart city to be more adaptive and forward-looking.”

“The current situation has shown us the exceptional importance of replicating the world's best practices in countering threats,”- Ilsur Metshin is sure.

Summing up the meeting, Altay Kulginov, akim of Nursultan, noted that the experience of cities that are now combating the coronavirus pandemic was interesting and useful to the participants of the conference.
