<p> (KZN.RU, August 29). The new Kazan Zoo “Zambezi River” was visited today by Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, and Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. Today, the construction work has been completed at the facility. Animal enclosures are still empty; animals will appear in a few weeks. </p> <p> </p> <p> Rustam Minnikhanov examined the territory of the Zoo, the enclosures, where elephants, hippos, giraffes and monkeys will live soon. According to Fanis Nurmukhametov, the director of the Kazan Zoo, exclusively African animals will live in the “Zambezi River”. He also spoke about plans for arranging a leisure park and a botanical garden with medicinal herbs. </p> <p> </p> <p> “We are not stopping the work at this point. We have a historical part, we will also bring it into such a state so that our guests, and most importantly the residents of the republic, can be proud of this object”, marked the President of the RT. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Mayor of Kazan thanked R. Minnikhanov for his assistance in the implementation of this project. “213 years ago, Kazan University was founded by imperial decree, and the Botanical Garden was in its composition. Two centuries later, we see its rebirth. Thank you for hearing the wishes of Kazan citizens, especially the young ones. This is not just a zoo, it is an oasis of nature in the very center of Kazan”, said the Mayor. </p> <p> </p> <p> Fanis Nurmukhametov reported that the opening of the facility will take place before the end of this year. Now the animals are in quarantine, after that, another month should be allowed to adapt to new conditions, reports the press service of the President of the RT. </p>
