I.Metshin: “Prosperity and comfort of citizens are important for all cities”

<p> Ilsur Metshin, President of the UN Advisory Committee of Local Authorities (UNACLA), Mayor of Kazan, met Saif Bader Al Qubaisi, General Manager of Abu Dhabi city (UAE), during the 10^th World Urban Forum “Cities of opportunities: connecting culture and innovation” at the City Hall of the UAE capital. </p> <p> Saif Bader Al Qubaisi told Ilsur Metshin about the development of Abu Dhabi, the concept of urban improvement, and using technology to offer digital municipal services. </p> <p> Special attention in Abu Dhabi is paid to community coordination and the happiness index of residents. The Ministry of happiness has been created to monitor this index. Now, the happiness index in the capital city of UAE, according to the Mayor’s office, is not less than 90%. </p> <p> The mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, in turn, said that the capital of Tatarstan is also actively developing in many areas discussed at the meeting –the improvement of public areas, the digitalization of municipal services and others. </p> <p> “The cities have different financial means and climatic conditions. But the prosperity and comfort of citizens is important everywhere. Therefore, we need to visit such advanced cities as Abu Dhabi, get acquainted with their practices and adopt it,”- Ilsur Metshin said. At the end of the meeting, he invited the delegation of the Abu Dhabi Mayor’s Office to visit Kazan. </p>
