Dozens of experts from different countries, mayors of cities, representatives of ministries and major companies attended the event at the Kazan Palace by Tasigo Hotel to share their experience in various areas of urban infrastructure development. Representatives of cities of Russia, the USA, Mexico, Turkey, Singapore, Moldova joined the forum online. </p> <p> Today, a visionary session of mayors was held on the topic “Cities of the future. The Formula for success”, which was attended by the Mayor of Kazan, President of the UN Advisory Committee of Local Authorities UNACLA Ilsur Metshin. He told the participants of the session about the importance of bringing together the efforts of residents, and how holding major events on the example of the capital of Tatarstan can promote it. </p> <p> The first major event for Kazan was the 2013 Universiade, which, according to the organizers, became the best in history, the head of the city reminded. Large-scale preparations were carried out, investments in the amount of more than 220 billion rubles were allocated for the development of infrastructure. </p> <p> After the Universiade, Kazan held the FINA World Aquatics Championships and the World Cup for the first time in the history of Russia, the Mayor reminded. Each of these events pushed the development of infrastructure of the city. </p> <p> “The events take place for two or three weeks, and the preparation takes years. But after them there is both a tangible legacy and an intangible one. The first one is new venues that residents use for their own comfort.
