The Mayor of Kazan visited new water treatment complex Kazanorgsintez.
Today, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the new water treatment plant of Kazanorgsintez PJSC. The complex with modern treatment technology will supply the enterprise with drinking water, as well as the Salavat Kupere residential area.
“Every day Kazan residents have a growing demand for high-quality water, and we pay great attention to this issue and the modernization of city services. The resources of the new station will allow us to develop housing infrastructure in the western part of the city, – I.Metshin said, stressing that the facility has a good reserve capacity. – Presently, there are 56 residential buildings with 21,000 residents at the Salavat Kupere, and the district will continue to develop. Thanks to the Kazanorgsintez water treatment plant, all residents will be supplied with drinking water”.
The new water treatment unit, the construction of which was carried out for 4 years, was fully financed by Kazanorgsintez PJSC. The complex is equipped with an 8,000 cub.m tank, capable of processing over 40 thousand cubic meters of water per day. It will jointly operate with the first unit launched in 1983, which consists of two sections and is capable of processing 100 thousand cubic meters of water.
The commissioning of the modern complex will allow the overhaul of the first block and the modernization of the entire station. By 2025, after completion of the work, the total production capacity of the two water treatment units will be about 140 thousand cubic meters of water per day.
The water in the complex undergoes a two-stage purification system using eco-friendly technologies. “In the second block, great attention is paid to environmental standards. The water is used at homes of residents of the Salavat Kupere district, and is also used for industrial purposes”, – said Farid Minigulov, CEO of Kazanorgsintez PJSC.
He noted that the purification technology used in the block made it possible to abandon liquid chlorine and use much safer sodium hypochlorite. For reference, Kazan Vodokanal switched to this technology in 2014. At the same time, the substance is produced from domestic salt by electrolysis method at Kazanorgsintez.
In addition, the water treatment plant is equipped with unique Russian-made catalytic filters that purify the air before supplying clean water to the tank.
The new water treatment unit is 98% equipped with domestic equipment.
“The system of the new water treatment complex is fully optimized and is located on a small area: the reservoir is underground, above it there are treatment facilities, and above them there is a building with an operator room”, – Rashid Mulikhov, head of the department of treatment facilities and utilities of Kazanorgsintez PJSC, told the head of the city. He drew attention to the fact that today in Russia there is only one such vertical water treatment plant built according to a similar project.
