I.Giniyatullin: “The snow removal vehicle can clean a yard in ten minutes, and if there is no passage for it, the janitor will need half a day”

Over 3 thousand janitors are engaged in cleaning of yards in Kazan.

This season, the snowy winter has become a real challenge for the road cleaning services and janitors of Kazan. Every day they clean sidewalks and driveways to the yards of the apartment buildings. Over 3 thousand janitors are engaged in cleaning of yards of the city. Iskander Giniyatullin, deputy head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, made a site visit to check the work of municipal utilities services on snow removal in the yards of the Vakhitovsky district.

I.Giniyatullin noted that despite heavy snow, the quality of cleaning of the yards meets the requirements and called on contractors to strengthen work with residents in order to deal with problematic areas faster.

The first site of the visit was the yard at 7 Tatarstan Street. The deputy head of the Executive Committee of Kazan was satisfied with the work of public utilities and the work of the janitors. “A married couple of janitors keep this yard clean, but now the woman got sick, and her husband is working alone now”, - said Lyubov Zhukova, director of the Staryu Gorod Property Management Company.

I.Giniyatullin, in turn, noted that the main challenge for public utilities services is cars parked along the roadway, while often their owners do not respond to requests from property management companies to remove vehicles. “Due to the fact that the car owners do not respond to requests from utilities services, they are unable to efficiently and promptly perform all the work. The snow removal vehicle can remove snow in ten minutes, and if there is no passage for it, then the janitor will need half a day for this”, - he said.

The Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan noted that many residents use special chats in various messengers and social networks. Experience shows that this greatly simplifies the work of public utilities, allows to respond promptly to complaints and contributes to improving the quality of life of the citizens.

I.Giniyatullin also looked around the village of Ametyevo, where he visited the yard at 5 Dachnaya Street, and also inspected the territory adjacent to private houses. Residents, employees of property management companies and heads of contracting organizations said that there was much more work due to snowfalls. Despite this, the municipal utility services are coping with their duties.

The next stop of detour was the yard at 49 Vishnevskogo Street. I.Giniyatullin was satisfied with the work of public utilities, but again drew attention to the cars parked in the yards.

For refence, presently, there are 5,575 apartment buildings in the city, of which more than 3,000 apartment buildings are fully privatized, which means that their owners can independently make all decisions concerning the maintenance of property, including cleaning of adjacent territories. For this, it is necessary to organize a meeting of property owners and decide on snow removal of the yard, purchasing or rent of special equipment.

For reference, earlier, the head of the Executive Committee of Kazan Rustem Gafarov noted that property management companies should better interact with residents and respond promptly to all complaints. “Snow removal from the yard is included into the utility bills, so the decision remains with the residents. Property management companies, in turn, should organize meetings and if residents decide to take out snow, then property management companies should take it out as quickly as possible”, - Rustem Gafarov said.

Almost 660 thousand tons of snow have been removed from the streets of Kazan since the beginning of winter.
