The Duna group will perform at the Kazan Maslenitsa Festival

The main activities will take place in the park at Lake Lebyazhye on February 26.

On 25 and 26 February, residents and visitors of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan will be able to take part in folk festivals dedicated to the end of winter. The events will take place on Lake Lebyazhye, in parks and squares of the city, as well as residential areas. Deputy head of the Executive Committee of the city Guzel Sagitova and head of the administration of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts Sergey Mironov informed about the events at the Business Monday meeting.

The main activities will be held on February 26 in the park area of Lake Lebyazhye. The program includes performances by creative teams of Kazan, more than 20 activities with animators and clowns. The ceremony of burning an effigy of Maslenitsa will take place at 1:00 pm. This year, the visual identity of the holiday was created by a neural network, S. Mironov emphasized.

In the food court area, visitors will be offered pancakes with 15 types of fillings, hot tea with herbs, traditional dishes of Russian and Tatar cuisine, grilled meat, pilaf and much more. Parents and children will be able to cook wheat, buckwheat, oatmeal and other types of pancakes at the master class.

Russian pop stars, including the Duna group, will perform at the festival.

For the convenience of citizens, additional bus routes will be provided, as well as parking spaces for those who want to get there by car.

“The issue of security is one of the most important. The arrival of visitors should not affect the Gorky Highway, it is necessary to expand parking as much as possible so that all logistics work,”- said Rustem Gafarov, head of the Executive Committee of Kazan.

Every year, more than 20,000 people come to the Maslenitsa Festival on Lake Lebyazhye. The security of the event will be provided by the police, as well as the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the public security department and a private security company. Security checking will be organized at the approaches to the venue of the holiday. Also, more than 100 volunteers will help to have a comfortable time.

Maslenitsa will begin on February 25 in Kazan, Guzel Sagitova said.

The festivities will begin at 11:00 am in the Black Lake Park, Kryliya Sovetov Park, Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest, Borisoglebskoye residential area. On the same day, an event will be held in Krutushka at 14:00.

On February 26, the festive program starts in the Gorky Park at 11:00 am, at 12:00 pm in the residential area of Kadyshevo. A concert program, a fair and pancakes will be offered for guests at each venue.
