Andrey Egorov, the director of MUP “Vodokanal”, reported on the implementation of the most significant and large-scale projects for the development of the water supply and sanitation system in Kazan was at the Business Monday today. The completing and delivery of the SPS will happen in 2019. “We will deduce the pumping station to a full projected capacity of 20000 cubic meters per hour and 650000 residents will be provided with regulatory sewerage”, said A. Egorov. </p> <p> The SPS “Zarechnaya” is a complex structure that is built in complex hydrological conditions. Instead of 15 wells, there are 23 downhole wells which inevitably affects the timing”, said D. Kalinkin. “But we need this station. Therefore, I ask for the strict control over the fulfillment of all terms and all types of work at the facility”. </p> <p> The remaining stages include the construction of two new pressure headers with a length of 10 km each and the reconstruction of the existing reservoir. </p> <p> Projects to eliminate the unpleasant smell and improve the ecological situation in the city are no less important. This is the overlap of the structures of treatment facilities and the construction of biological treatment facilities for processing sludge. 573 million rubles were allocated for the implementation of the project of blocking individual structures with specialized structures that neutralize the technological smell. These are the means of the republican and municipal budgets, as well as MUP Vodokanal. For today, the basic construction and installation work on the covering of structures have been fully completed, the installation of the first unit for cleaning the air in the receiving chamber has been finished. </p> <p> “The project on the elimination of technological smell from treatment facilities is nearing completion, they are already covered with caps. This will significantly improve the living conditions for local residents”, noted D. Kalinkin. </p> <p> The installation of air purification for the planned capacity is scheduled for October this year. </p> <p> The third realizable project is the construction of a shop for thermomechanical processing of the formed sediment at the treatment plants. It is necessary to remediate more than 100 hectares of sludge fields, and this is possible only after the construction of the shop. “Pre-project experimental research is underway. As a result, a reclamation technology will be selected and a corresponding project will be developed”, said A. Egorov. </p> <p> The project is financed at the expense of the company's own funds. Measures are being taken to prepare all the necessary documentation for the state environmental review. Based on the results of the open tender, the supplier of the main process equipment and construction and installation works has been identified, with which the relevant contracts have been concluded. The main technological equipment will be supplied by the AO “GMS Neftemash”, the construction and installation works will be carried out by the PAO “Tomskgazstroy”. </p> <p> “Someone may think that we are taking our time, but the complexity of the project requires its serious preparation”, said D. Kalinkin. “Nevertheless, we have already moved to the active phase of work. Now we are just waiting for the conclusion of an environmental assessment. The construction of this shop will solve the problem of the utilization of the sludge. We are so carefully approaching this issue”. </p> <p> At the end of the report, A. Egorov talked about the current work that is being done to improve the water supply in Kazan. Additional wells are being drilled at the Mirny water intake that will improve the quality of drinking water for the residents of Mirny and Petrovsky settlements. In addition, it is planned to build a water supply unit “Derbyshki” with water pipes from the North-Eastern water supply unit, reconstruction of the Volga water intake and other measures to improve the quality of water supply and sanitation. </p>
