The intellectual annual tournament aims to study the history and culture, knowledge and preservation of the national cultural heritage.
(KZN.RU, February 20). From 22 to 24 of February, Kazan will host the final round of the open All-Russian Intellectual Olympiad “Our Heritage” among students of 8-11 grades. The themes of this year's tournament were “Volga region” and “Folk crafts”. The opening ceremony of the Olympiad will be held on February 22 at 4 pm at school №181 (Tulpar Street, №2).
The Olympiad 2018/2019 started in September from the school stage. Later, municipal and regional tours took place. Final events will be hosted by other Russian cities in addition to Kazan. Thus, competitions for age categories 2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8 grades will be held in Samara, Kostroma, Cheboksary, and Nizhny Novgorod.
About 140 students from 26 regions of the RF and Kazakhstan will take part in the final round of 8-11 grades.
Last year, the Olympiad gathered more than 272 thousand schoolchildren from 4235 schools in 81 regions of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, as well as from embassy schools of Guinea, Denmark, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, and Slovenia.
The intellectual tournament takes place in Russia annually. It is aimed at studying history and culture, uniting young people in the process of learning and preserving the national cultural heritage. The tasks, divided into different blocks, allow children to demonstrate their abilities in speed and quality of memorization, erudition, speed of thinking in solving logical problems and analyzing texts, reports the Association of Cities of the Volga Region. This academic year, they organize the Olympiad.
