The Delicious Kazan Festival: tartare battle, a waiters' race and a nutritionist’s audio guide

<p> The Delicious Kazan gastro- festival will take place in the capital of Tatarstan on August 19 and 20. The main concept of the event this year is the gastronomic town with the main venues at the Kazan Family Center and the Governmental Offices of the Kazan Kremlin. This was announced at the Business Monday by the head of the Committee for Tourism Development Daria Sannikova. </p> <p> “The Delicious Kazan festival is not only about eating, therefore, it is very popular among both Kazan residents and guests of the city, – said Mayor Ilsur Metshin. – We support the reputation of Kazan as a gastronomic center with great traditions, a variety of delicious cuisine, we invite chefs, experts, we try to introduce innovations every year.” </p> <p> According to the head of the city, the festival will be of interest for both industry professionals and visitors. “We strengthen not only the palette of different local and international cuisines, but also promote healthy nutrition, it is very important to instill it in both the older generation and our youth,”- the Mayor concluded and instructed to pay attention to ensuring public order at the event. </p> <p> Daria Sannikova noted that this year Delicious Kazan will bring together more than 80 participants, among them restaurants of the city, farmers and the self-employed. According to the concept of the festival, various dishes can be tasted in certain sites: burgers and kebabs on Batyr Avenue, fish and farm products on Su Anasi Street, desserts and sweets on Syuyumbike Square, and souvenirs on Zilant Alley. </p> <p> Another innovation will be a tartare competition. The dishes of the participants will be served on a trailer. The winner will receive the status of the best restaurant at the festival, will receive a distinctive mark and additional promotion of its brand. </p> <p> Visitors can go along the health route from one location to another, which will be laid from the Kazan Family Center to the Kazan Kremlin. On the way, an audio guide by a nutritionist will be available for listening. </p> <p> A Tea Alley with sweets and samovars with a volume of 300 liters will also open in Governmental Offices, lectures on nutrition, healthy eating and secrets of cooking delicious dishes will also be held here. </p> <p> On August 19, a tartare battle will take place by the chefs of the restaurants located in the Kremlin, who will comment on the recipes for cooking their dishes. On August 20, a conversation with the participation of speakers from Moscow and Kazan about the restaurant business and a waiters' race will be held in the format of “Conversations on the couch”. </p> <p> “One of the features of the festival this year will be a master class by chefs from the reality TV show with MICHELIN chefs “Cooks on Wheels”. A robot dog will help them, which will take out secret ingredients for dishes. Vladislav Piskunov, one of the most famous chefs in Moscow from Matryoshka restaurant, will take part in the event,”- D. Sannikova said. </p> <p> The program also includes master classes, a DJ set, performances by cover bands, a photo exhibition about the history of the festival, contests and gifts. Festival sites will be open from 11:00 to 21:00. </p>
