The festival of mental rehabilitation programs will be held in Kazan

(KZN.RU, February 1). Kazan will host the V Festival of rehabilitation programs for people with mental disabilities “Drugie?” (Rus. “Different?”). It is aimed at developing the system of rehabilitation services in the Volga Federal District. The festival creates a professional site for the exchange of experience between experts in the field of psychosocial rehabilitation.

The festival will include an international forum of rehabilitation programs, a fair of crafts, visual arts and inclusive creativity “The World of Special Masters”, a competition of volunteer programs in the field of rehabilitation “Drugie”, a competition for the title of a socially responsible enterprise in the field of mental health “Priznanie” (Rus. “Recognition”), and an exhibition of outsider artists “Novoe Izmerenie” (Rus. “New Dimension”).

The festival will gather leading Russian and foreign experts in the field of psychosocial rehabilitation and mental health. Among them are representatives of non-profit organizations, institutions of healthcare systems, social protection, education and science, culture and art, physical culture and sports, socially-oriented commercial organizations, as well as federal and regional media and volunteers. The event was organized in the framework of the business program of the 24th International Specialized Exhibition “Health Industry. Kazan” and traditionally timed to the celebration of World Mental Health Day. Each year, the geography of the event covers a specific region of Russia, where a qualitative and quantitative study of state and non-profit organizations providing psychosocial rehabilitation services is conducted. The results of the study are published in the official catalog of the festival.

The project is being implemented jointly with the Russian Society of Psychiatrists, the Russian Psychological Society, the All-Russian Professional Psychotherapeutic League, and the Institute of Mental Health Research of KSMU.

The festival will be held in the exhibition center “Kazanskzyz Yarmarka” on October 9.
