E. Lodvigova: “The memorial plate in honor of Vladimir Vysotsky is just the beginning”

The music stand in honor of the famous musician was opened near the building of the Youth Center “Ak Bars” in Kazan.

(KZN.RU, January 25, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). Today, a memorial plate in honor of Vladimir Vysotsky, the musician, poet, and actor, was opened at the entrance to the Youth Center “Ak Bars” in Kazan. The event is timed to the 80th anniversary of his birth.

“Initiative citizens appealed to us with a request to perpetuate his memory. I think it's really great that such a music stand is installed, and our guests will see it. This is just the first step”, Evgenia Lodvigova, the first deputy head of the Kazan Municipality, said that during the opening ceremony of the memorial plate. “The popularity of Vladimir Vysotsky was great. I'm glad that we can pass on the memory of him to the next generation”.

Vladimir Vysotsky was in Kazan on tour fr om 12 to 18 of October 1977, during which he gave more than 30 concerts. He lived in a hotel at the Youth Center and gave 2 concerts a day on its stage. Three more concerts were held at other venues, such as the Sports Palace, the assembly hall of the Kazan Chemical Technology Institute, the Actor's House, and the House of Culture “Rodina” in Zelenodolsk. The weekend was only on October 14, when V. Vysotsky left for Moscow. It was decided to install a memorial plate, made in the form of a music stand, at the entrance to the building on Dekabristov Street, №1, because his Kazan tour began there. It depicts a portrait of the musician and tells about the tour in three languages: Russian, Tatar, and English.

“This is the first official mention in 40 years that Vladimir Vysotsky was in Kazan. Therefore, we will consider the opening of this memorial plate as a reference point for events in his honor”, said Vladimir Uretsky, the head of the initiative group on perpetuating the memory of Vladimir Vysotsky in Kazan. He specified that the admirers of V. Vysotsky's art also come up with the idea to name the street and the square in his honor wh ere it would be possible to hold regular events.

Today the concert in the House-Museum of V. Aksenov will be held in honor of V. Vysotsky, in October – one more in the framework of “Aksenov-Fest-2018”. The exhibition with the support of Vysotsky's House on Taganka will be held in the House-Museum of V. Aksenov from mid-March to mid-April. The exposition will present his manuscripts, personal items, and costumes. The initiative group also proposed the development of a tourist route following the tracks of V. Vysotsky and his friends who lived in Kazan: Stanislav Govorukhin, Vasily Aksenov, and others.

“This is certainly a legendary personality that was in Kazan and left a significant mark in the cultural atmosphere of our city. There are more and more fans of his. Every year his work is being studied, we are imbued with it. Many generations of people are studying the heritage of Vysotsky, his multifaceted talent”, said Azat Abzalov, the head of the Kazan Department of Culture.

Olesya Baltusova, the assistant to the President of the RT, Irina Aksenova, the director of the Aksenov House-Museum, Vladimir Vavilov, the laureate of the award “Svoya Koleya” and the chairman of the Charity Fund of A. Vavilova, Bulat Saifullin, the representative of the original song club “Prival”, Yacov Klopoukh, the former chief administrator of the Tatar State Philharmonia, personally acquainted with V. Vysotsky, and other admirers of his work also took part in the event. About 100 people came to the ceremony despite the weather. During the opening of the music stand, they listened to a fragment of an audio recording of V. Vysotsky's performance in Kazan and a song in his honor, read poems. A traveling exhibition of books about V. Vysotsky and records with his songs worked on the square in front of the entrance to the Youth Center “Ak Bars”. There were about 3 thousand copies from the fund of the Centralized Library System of Kazan.
