The decision was made at the extraordinary session of the Kazan City Duma of the fifth convocation
Today, an extraordinary session of the Kazan City Duma of the fifth convocation took place in the Executive Committee of the capital of Tatarstan. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, chaired the meeting. Eleven issues were presented to the deputies for discussion. In particular, the members of the Public Council of the Kazan City Municipality were approved.
The formation of the Public Council began this spring, after the decision was announced at the 37th session of Kazan City Duma. This consultative and advisory body was created to ensure openness and transparency in the activities of the municipal government. The council unites representatives from various industries and acts as a body of public control. It examines issues related to local government work, makes recommendations, and participates in discussions on projects and municipal programs.
The acceptance of applications from candidates from various groups, including representatives of public organizations, NGOs, experts from scientific and educational institutions began on August 30 and ended on September 30.
Aidar Abdulkhakov, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Socio-Economic Development, Entrepreneurship, and Municipal Property, noted that a total of 11 proposals had been received, of which three were rejected for formal reasons. As a result, the deputies approved five candidates for membership on the Public Council.
In addition, deputies discussed proposals for candidates for members of territorial election commissions with voting rights for 2025. They also discussed the issue of changing the boundaries of the Voznesenskoe territorial public self-government and the issue of providing urgent support to Kazan residents who need assistance in purchasing housing under the social mortgage program, as well as other issues.
