Deputies of the Kazan City Duma inspected the burial complex under construction in Kazan

The project is supposed to provide 148.5 thousand burial sites.

(KZN.RU, October 4). Today, deputies of the Kazan City Duma inspected the burial complex, which is being built on the border with the Pestrechinsky district. They assessed the readiness of the structures, inspected the premises for visitors and cemetery staff.

There was a need to build a new complex due to the fact that today almost all municipal cemeteries are overcrowded. The total area of two public cemeteries in the burial complex will be 77.76 hectares. The central alley divides the complex into two public cemeteries: a northern area of about 40 hectares for burial according to Christian rites, and a southern one for burial in Muslim areas of 37.7 hectares.

The project assumes the organization of 148500 burial sites. A new funeral facility will serve for about half a century provided that the functioning of existing urban cemeteries.

Money for the construction of city cemeteries was allocated from the budget of the RT. In summer, the territory of the burial complex was included in the boundaries of the Kazan Municipality.

Currently, administrative and service buildings and entrance group with a guard post have been built, canopies for parting have been erected at each cemetery. In the middle of the main alley, there is a rotunda with a dome, part of internal passages. There are a large parking lot and warm bathrooms for the convenience of visitors.

It remains to complete the arrangement of the road network, container platforms for solid waste, household water supply, build a gas pipeline, install small architectural forms with cemetery navigation, and purchase technological equipment.

Religious buildings with extra-budgetary funds are planned to be built near the central alley in separate areas.

Sergey Izmailov, the director of a subcontracting organization OOO “AVL-Story”, said that the main construction works for capital structures have been completed. The laid improved road surface will last much longer than ordinary asphalt.

Marat Ishkin, the head of the Department of the Organization of Funeral Services, explained that there are industrial premises and rooms for attendants in the economic block. It is planned to organize comfortable conditions for visitors in the administrative building.

Deputy Emil Khustnutdinov asked when the first burial was planned. According to M. Ishkin, it is assumed that the cemetery will start functioning next year.

In the spring of this year, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, monitored the construction progress. He ordered to build a burial complex taking into account all religious canons and to involve representatives of the clergy in the evaluation of the work. Also, the head of the city noted that all work must be performed at the highest level.
