Denis Kalinkin inspected the work of the housing services of Kazan on waste removal

During the holidays 76.3 thousand cubic meters of garbage were taken from the city's yards and recycled.

(KZN.RU, January 5, Mikhail Chentsov). Enterprises of the housing and communal services continue their work during the New Year holidays in Kazan. As of January 5, 76.3 thousand cubic meters of garbage were taken out from city’s yards in total, which is 15% more than in ordinary non-holiday days. Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, inspected the work of housing and communal services on the removal of waste from yards today. The participants of the meeting examined the yards at the addresses: Prospect Yamashev, №74, 76, and Prospect Amirkhan, №2a, and also the territory of houses №2, 4, 6, 8 on Kaibitskaya Street.

Iskander Giniyatullin, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Housing and Communal Services Committee, Evgeny Varakin, the head of the Office of the Executive Committee, Timur Alibaev, the head of the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts’ administration, Rustem Gafarov, the head of the Sovetsky district administration, Marat Nuriev, the director of the MC “Uyutny Dom” , Sergey Izmalkov, the director of the MC “Zhilischnik-2”, and others took part in the meeting.

The period of New Year holidays for workers of the housing and communal services is traditionally one of the most intense. Thus, 1523 janitors and 111 units of special equipment are used daily for the cleaning of local areas and driveways. According to I. Giniyatullin, garbage removal on January 1 was carried out on duty and starting from January 2 – in the working mode. The largest amount of waste was recorded on December 31, when almost 2 times more garbage was taken out than on ordinary days. “Starting on January 2, the amount of garbage is decreasing. This year we were lucky that there were no snowfalls in the days after the holiday. In general, the situation is under control”, he said.

Cleaning roofs from snow and ice sheets are carried out along with work on the cleaning of yards.

According to Denis Kalinkin, the housing services of the city cope with the tasks but the work should not be stopped. “We inspected the whole city. There are clean yards and container platforms everywhere. Thank you all for the organized work. The holidays are still going on, and we should not relax”, said the head of the Executive Committee.

550 units of winter cleaning equipment are available in Kazan, including 238 units for first-stage operations (130 CDM and 108 brush tractors) and 312 units of loading equipment (28 snow loaders, 114 wheel loaders, 7 snowblowers, 92 dump trucks, and other equipment).

Since the beginning of the season, 203 thousand tons of snow have been removed from the city roads. 22 thousand tons of anti-icing material was used. The question of the proper maintenance of pedestrian sidewalks and bus-stops are on special control.
