Denis Kalinkin: “We see the quality of housing reaching a new level”

According to last year’s results, the housing construction plan in Kazan was exceeded and amounted to 804 thousand square meters.

The capital of Tatarstan is among the top 5 Russian million-population cities in terms of the housing delivered and is the leader among the cities of the Volga region in terms of housing under construction. Azat Nigmatzyanov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, reported today at the Business Monday on the main results of the work of the Kazan construction block last year.

At the end of last year, the housing delivering plan was exceeded and amounted to 804 thousand square meters. Thus, Kazan ranks first among the cities of the Volga Federal District for housing construction and is among the top 5 cities of Russia with a million population.

According to the structure of finished housing, 86% of the total volume is apartment buildings, their total area was 692 thousand square meters. Due to commercial investments, more than 492 thousand square meters of housing were built. By the programs of the State Housing Fund, 12 residential houses were delivered with an area of more than 199 thousand square meters.

28% of the total volume of delivered apartment buildings are objects built on a social mortgage in the “Salavat Kupere”, said A. Nigmatzyanov. He added that in total there were 32 apartment houses for 9350 apartments in the district.

In addition to the social mortgage in Kazan, the implementation of the program “Housing for citizens” continues, said the speaker.

Last year, the construction of a second house on Yutazinskaya Street for 72 apartments was completed and the construction of a third house continued. In addition, it is planned to begin the construction of two residential buildings on Biryuzovaya Street for 220 apartments and Zheleznodorozhnikov Street for 203 apartments.

“These apartments are intended for citizens who are registered to receive housing under a social rental contract. Housing in them is also provided as compensation instead of objects seized for municipal needs”, explained the speaker. He added that municipal employees and young expert-scientists can also receive apartments.

“We see that the quality of housing is reaching a new level. The appearance of new houses is changing, as well as approaches to landscaping in new neighborhoods and filling them with social infrastructure. Step by step, it becomes the norm to conduct parallel construction of houses, children's institutions and commercial premises”, said Denis Kalinkin. He marked that the changes happen due to new approaches to urban planning and spatial planning.

At the end of the report, A. Nigmatzyanov shared the plans for the current year. According to him, the plan to enter housing with an increase is 900 thousand square meters. The implementation of the social mortgage program will continue. In 2019, it is planned to complete the construction of a residential building with 425 apartments. The construction of a residential house №3 on Yutazinskaya Street is scheduled under the program “Housing for citizens”.

“Plans for the next year are great. Hopefully, the construction complex will continue to be one of the strongest units for the development of Kazan”, concluded D. Kalinkin.
