Defender of the Fatherland Day in Kazan: laying flowers, cross-country skiing, and the relay race “Father and Son”

<p> (KZN.RU, February 21). On February 23, solemn events will be held in Kazan in honor of the Defender of the Fatherland Day. In total, more than 76 events are taking place in the city these days with more than 8 thousand people participating. The events are organized in the schools of the city. </p> <p> </p> <p> Traditionally, commemorative events on a holiday will be held in the Pobedy Park, where a solemn laying of flowers and wreaths at the eternal flame will take place. At 11 am, a gala concert will be held in the CC “Moskovsky” for Kazan citizens, who defended their Fatherland in different years. The program includes performances of bands and artists of the city. </p> <p> </p> <p> Sports events will take place on a memorable day. At 9 am, competitions in cross-country skiing will be held in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest. The members of the Tatarstan regional branch of the youth all-Russian public organization “Russian Student Squads” will take the start. </p> <p> </p> <p> In the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest, fr om 10 am to 10 pm, you can play free football on the Xbox console in the container center “CUBE”. Films about superheroes will be broadcasted in the cafe “Les” throughout the day. The schedule of film screenings will be available on the pages of the Gorkinsky-Ometievsky Forest on social networks. </p> <p> </p> <p> At 1 pm, a series of events will continue in the Pobedy Park. The interactive site will host an exhibition of fire and rescue equipment, wh ere employees of the personnel of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of the RT will acquaint Kazan citizens with their activities, as well as talk about the features of equipment and basic safety rules. </p> <p> </p> <p> Also, in honor of the holiday, all those who came will be able to try their hand at the race relay “Father and Son”. Participants will have to put on a fireman costume for speed, run for a while with a fire hose, take part in a tug-of-war, and much more. Winners will receive memorable prizes. After active games, everyone can have real soldiers' food and hot tea. </p>
