The flight of Yuri Gagarin to Earth's orbit is honored on April 12 in Russia.
(KZN.RU, April 11). On April 12, Kazan citizens can get to know the cosmos closer. Several thematic events for adults and children have been prepared in the city to the Cosmonautics Day.
On April 12, the historic battle for space will be told in the eco-center of the Gorkinsko-Ometevsky forest. Or rather, it will be shown. A television art program from the series “Secrets of the Century” will be broadcasted on the screen in the lobby of the center. The beginning is at 5 pm.
A whole series of events will be held there on April 14. At 2 pm, a popular science lecture will begin by Andrey Kuznetsov, the author of the YouTube channel “Space is simple”. He will tell about the relief of other planets, show their canyons, craters and even call the highest mountain in the solar system. At 3 pm, a family master class on the creation of an “ecological” rocket made from corrugated cardboard starts in the eco-center. Materials should be brought with you. At 4 pm, the Kazan citizens will be told about the existence of life on Mars, with the help of the documentary “Martian Chronicles”. The entrance to all events is free.
A master class on the creation of “stars of desires” and a tour on the interactive exhibition have been prepared by the Museum of Natural History of the RT. On April 14 at 11 am, the children will be able to make an imaginary journey to the world of stars without leaving the building. They will explore the solar system, get acquainted with the planets, real meteorites, study objects in a telescope, and even know their weight on other planets.
Another event within the walls of the museum is organized by the laboratory “Naturally, Science!”. On April 15, a special program is planned, it is called “Space Odyssey”. Kazan citizens will be told about the famous heroes-travelers and show exciting space experiments and demonstrate the laws of gravity, optics, mechanics, dynamics, electromagnetism. The scientific show is intended for children from the age of 5 years. The beginning is at 1 pm. The entrance is paid and the fee includes a visit to the museum.
Three free tours will take place at the Astronomical Observatory named after V. Engelhardt on April 12 at 3 pm, 5 pm, and 7 pm. Its participants will learn about the formation of the Kazan Astronomical School, the personality of the astronomer and philanthropist Vasily Engelhardt, see unique ancient telescopes and other astronomical instruments, and learn the principle of the armillary sphere and sundial. If the sky will be clear after 8 pm, the Kazan citizens will be able to observe the stars through a telescope. In addition, Almaz Galeev, the candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, associate professor, will give a lecture “Astronomy of the space age”. It will tell in detail about what successes astronomical science has achieved thanks to the development of space exploration.
Unusual entertainment is organized in the residence of creative industries “Schtab”. From 4 pm on April 12, you can go to the 3D tour of the international space station, explore the universe on the astro-simulator, make original photos against the background of other planets, launch a rocket and get to know the members of the organization “Space Spies”. At 7 pm, the speeches of eminent experts will begin in the lecture hall: Andrey Kuznetsov, the popularizer of science, Ural Zakirov, a member of the presidium of the Russian Cosmonautics Federation, one of the pioneers of Russian cosmonautics, Vitaly Karetnikov, the author of the popular science project “Real Astronomy”, and Igor Grigoriev, the head of the Aerospace Education Center. At 9 pm, the movie “Journey to the Edge of the Universe” will be shown. The admission is free, but registration is required.
The show “From the Earth to the Universe" will become a gift of the House of entertaining science and technology to the Day of Cosmonautics. Only three days (April 12, 14 and 15) they will talk about the expanses of the universe and show the starry sky. Visitors will be seated under a dome, the inner surface of which will project “living” starry sky. Kazan citizens will be told about the constellations, the history of their formation and location on the map of the universe. The entrance is paid, preliminary recording is required.
