The competitions will be held on March 13 at the Lokomotiv stadium.
On March 13, the 54th
Kazan Ski Marathon will be held at the Lokomotiv stadium in the village of Yudino – one of the largest sports events after the Russiaт Ski Track. The competitions will be held as part of the Russialoppet ski marathons.
Three distances will be available for participants of the Kazan Marathon - 5 km, 25 km and 50 km., depending on their age and level of training. Participants from the age of 10 can apply for a distance of 5 km, for 25 km- from the age of 17. Men from 19 and women from 21 can run the distance of 50 km.
More than 500 people will take part in the competition. Registration is available on the website, to date, more than 400 people have applied for participation. Gleb Retivykh, many times winner of the World Championships in sprint races, Russian champion in team sprint freestyle, Master of sports of Russia of international class in cross-country skiing, member of the Russian national team in cross-country skiing, and medalist of the World Cup, champion of Russia, winner of the Universiade, Master of sports of Russia of international class in cross-country skiing Konstantin Glavatskikh will participate in the competition at a distance of 50 km.
The mandatory commissions which will be held the day before the competition, on March 12, at the Lokomotiv stadium from 12.00 to 18.00 will distribute starting packages to participants.
The kickoff is scheduled for 9 am. The 5 km race is scheduled for 9:30, the 25 km and 50 km races are scheduled for 10:30. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 10:15.
There will be 120 referees at the event: 60 professional judges and 60 volunteers. The chief judge of the competition is the representative of Tatarstan Cross – Country Skiing Federation Yevgeny Shebolkin, according to the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports of the Executive Committee of Kazan.
