The WorldSkills Championship in Kazan: what a confectioner, a florist, and a machine-tool operator have in common

<p> (KZN.RU, August 21, Alena Miroshnichenko). 150 thousand sheets of paper for the competency “Printing Technologies in Press”, 30.4 thousand screw nails for the competency “Plumbing and Heating”, 1 thousand cocktail sticks for the competency “Restaurant Service” were purchased for participants in the WorldSkills Kazan 2019. Anna Prokopenya, a representative of Europe at the WorldSkills Champion Trust, a participant in the WorldSkills Championship 2015 in Brazil, brought up interesting facts at a media show at the exhibition complex “Kazan Expo” today. </p> <p> The competition will open in the capital of Tatarstan on August 22. From 23 to 26 of August, young professionals will demonstrate their skills at the exhibition complex “Kazan Expo”. 1300 participants from 63 countries will compete in 56 competencies. In general, they are divided into 6 blocks: construction and technologies, creativity and design, services, information and communication technologies, production and engineering technologies, transport and logistics. </p> <p> As A. Prokopenya told, in total, 24412 orders were made for equipment necessary for performances of all the participants of the championship. So, applications are 24.8 thousand bricks, 1944 glasses, 450 paper cook hats, 24838 fresh flowers, 22 drones, 2 helicopters and 35 thousand meters of electronic cables. And in the order for participants in each competence, you can find three intersecting points. So, a confectioner and a florist and a machine-tool operator need a fire extinguisher, pens, and a coffee machine. </p> <p> The opening ceremony of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 will take place tomorrow at the stadium “Kazan Arena”. The guests will attend a large-scale spectacular show. The stars of the Russian pop stage, creative bands of Kazan and the R will take part. In addition, augmented reality technologies are involved in the production. </p>
