Over 100 free events will take place at Kazan parks during the New Year holidays

A ski excursion, a concert, a New Year's Children's carnival and much more have been prepared for residents of the city and tourists.

This year, 111 free winter events will take place at 19 public spaces of the city for residents and visitors of Kazan. The festive program starts in the parks on December 16 and will last until mid-January. Aigul Latypova, head of the Directorate of Parks and Squares of Kazan, informed about this at the Business Monday meeting.

The winter program in public spaces will begin with the opening of festive New Year’s trees. Father Frost and Snow Maiden will light the lights on them in 13 parks. Children will watch a cryo-show and performances by animators.

The events at Kazanka will be of interest to outdoor enthusiasts, A.Latypova noted. A ski tour of the territory of the future Sports Park, hiking in Russian-German Switzerland, winter volleyball and a snowball tournament at the Uram extreme park were prepared for the citizens.

On December 22, the opening of the first eco-friendly New Year’s tree with a height of 4 meters will take place. It will be installed on the Kazanka embankment next to the Uram extreme park. The tree was made from industrial waste and tinsel collected by residents.

On December 24 and January 5, a performance of the youth theater “Beyond the Fourth Wall” will take place in the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest. Traditional festive songs in different languages will be performed in the Lyadskoy Garden on December 25 – the day of Catholic Christmas. The Atmosphere band will perform for Kazan residents.

From December 27 to January 3, artists of the Kazan circus, jugglers, acrobats and equilibrists, will present the program “Life of Toys”. A unique circus performance will be shown for the first time at 8 public spaces of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan.

Also, performances with the participation of Father Frost, Snow Maiden and other fairy-tale heroes are waiting for young Kazan residents on the territory of 7 parks. And in the Tinchurin Park, they can attend a children's play in the Tatar language.

This year, residents and visitors of Kazan can celebrate the New Year at the skating rink in the Black Lake Park. The celebration of New Year's Eve will continue until 3:00 am, the skate rental will end an hour earlier.

On the first day of 2023, a Blue Light concert will be held in the Kryliya Sovetov Park. On January 2, the Uritsky Park will host winter competitions. The winners of the amateur snowball tournament will be presented with gifts.

On January 4, a stand-up show with the participation of residents of the Kazan Stand Up Club will take place in the Les café in the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky Forest, and on January 6 - a youth concert.

On January 6, on Komsomolskoye Lake in Derbyshki, a swim in a special font will be organized, as well as a barrel bath and a performance by creative teams.

During the New Year holidays, creative workshops for children and adults will be held in the covered pavilion on Ak Chachaklar Boulevard.

On January 3, new hits of Tatar alternative music will be performed in the park in Salavat Kupere. Artists of the Yummy Music label will take part in the concert “Yash Koch”.

The new square of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the construction industry of the republic of Tatarstan will host winter activities as well. A skating rink will open in the park this month. 150 pairs of skates will be available for visitors.

During the holidays, residents and visitors of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan will also be able to visit the observation deck of the Kazan Family Center. Until the New Year, it will be open from 10:00 to 20:00, and from January 1 to January 8 – from 10:00 to 22:00.
