Martial arts, blogging and mothers of special children as teachers: the largest inclusive center to open in Kazan

Ilsur Metshin instructed to complete the repair work in a facility with an area of 230 square meters on Golubyatnikova St. by the end of August

The largest inclusive center in the city with a training apartment for children with intellectual disabilities will open in the Novo-Savinovsky district of Kazan. The center will be focused on technologies – a blogging room will be equipped for the children, in which they will study the basics of photo and video shooting. At the sports and rehabilitation hall, children will be able to practice martial arts and rock climbing. Mothers of special children who undergo specialized training in St. Petersburg and Kazan will be involved in teaching. Mayor Ilsur Metshin instructed to complete all repair work in the premises on Golubyatnikova Street by the end of August.

“It is great that you continue developing, not only open new premises, but also introduce new work formats – you attract mothers of special children. Such families are in a particularly difficult situation. Of course, they have the support of the state. But the fact that we create conditions where children can socialize, and mothers can communicate with each other, help each other, gain knowledge is an important story,”- Ilsur Metshin addressed the head of the ANO Good Kazan Tatyana Merzlyakova.

The Mayor noted that, on his instructions, inclusive spaces will gradually be opened in all districts of the city. The new inclusive center in the Novo-Savinovsky district is not the only such institution. In the MasterOK center, opened at school № 49, children with disabilities are engaged in decorative and applied creativity: making ceramics, carpentry, etc. The facility also has a gym for children with developmental disabilities.

“Teenagers and parents will attend such centers. We will definitely continue this work. I want to thank Tatyana Merzlyakova for not only conducting patronage, but also finding the best practices in our country and abroad,”- the head of the city added.

The new inclusive center will be the largest in the city. A training apartment, a sports and rehabilitation hall and a blogging room will be opened in a facility with an area of 230 sq.m. The rooms will be multifunctional, equipped with transformable furniture.

“Each center has its own feature. There is a chamber story in Yudino, a family story on Ippodromnaya Street, and a technological one here. We are trying to keep up with the times. Kids are growing up, and a new qualitative approach is required. We are very limited in space. It is important to us that every scrap is used. Therefore, we make everything mobile, you can rearrange objects and there will be space for another group,”- Tatyana Merzlyakova said.

In the sports and rehabilitation hall, both children and mothers can practice dancing and yoga. For teenagers, a space is equipped for rock climbing, adaptive physical education and martial arts (Aikido). Trainers specializing in sensorimotor integration aimed at stimulating the cerebellum and developing coordination will work here. The equipment for classes was purchased by a grant in the amount of one million rubles, in particular, gym wall bars and balls were purchased in Novosibirsk.”
