The 15th COMBOnation breaking and street art event takes place in the capital of the republic of Tatarstan
Adnan Dushaku, a dancer from Berlin, took part in the 15th COMBOnation breaking and street art event. He was invited to the event as a judge. KZN.RU spoke with the breaker how he started dancing, what breaking gives to young people and his impressions about Kazan.
Tell us how you started dancing?
I started dancing when I was eight. My older brother introduced me into breaking, at first we started practice at home. The first time I saw breaking live was when Robolex was dancing at pool party. He made crazy moves, these head spins. And I wanted to do the same and learn it. When I started dancing in 1999, there were crazy guys, for example, Cool Joe from America, he even starred in the Run-D.M.C video, he did such cool moves. It inspired me – these spins, twists. I wanted to be a part of it.
What does dancing and breaking give to young people?
Hip-hop is now the biggest youth culture, it embodies everything – musicality, athleticism and creativity. If you consider yourself a part of hip-hop, your life becomes more joyful, more playful. To express yourself, you have to know yourself and how to use your body. This teach me a lot. When I started training, I became confident that I could do anything. It's part of the art when you can move like no one else. It gives power and confidence in life, helps to achieve goals. Nothing is hard for you. I am sure that all this was given to me by dancing – this energy gave me power in life.

I am happy to be a part of the event, to share my knowledge, to inspire people. I have been dancing for 24 years, now new participants give me inspiration.
I fell in love with the city of Kazan, people live in peace here – Muslims, Christians, everyone is very friendly. I really liked the vibe of this city, a lot of creative people, dancers. I’m really inspired by this city. I can't wait to come back here again.
