Alexey Ivanov will bring the novel “Tobol” to Kazan

The author of the book “The Geographer Drank His Globe Away” will come to the art-residence Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda.

(KZN.RU, April 11). The guest of the art-residence “Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda” in Kazan will be the famous writer Alexey Ivanov. On April 17, he will present to readers a novel entitled “Tobol”.

Alexey Ivanov is known by the public for his work “The Geographer Drank His Globe Away”, on the basis of which the film of the same name was shot with Konstantin Khabensky in the leading role. The writer also has books about the Urals and a joint documentary with Leonid Parfenov “The Ridge of Russia”. He will come to Kazan for the first time and tell his fans about one of his bestsellers: the novel “Tobol” about the conquest of Siberia, written in the genres of historical epic, political detective, and mystical action. At the end of 2018, there will be a premiere of the film based on his motives with Dmitry Dyuzhev, Dmitry Nazarov, Yevgeny Dyatlov, and Pavel Tabakov in the leading roles.

Alexey Ivanov will meet with readers in the house-museum of Vasily Aksenov. He will answer questions about his books, creative plans, and developments, and also will hold an autograph session. The entrance to the event is free, however, you must first register by phone (843) 238-62-32. The beginning is at 7 pm.

The art residence “Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda” was established in late 2017 on the initiative of Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. Writers, poets, and playwrights come to live in it, attend creative meetings, and create works about the city. Natalia Yakushina, Alexey Arzamazov, Sergey Shargunov, Roman Senchin, and Igor Mikhailov were the guests of the art residence.
