Radik Khabirov becomes the winner of the Teacher of the Year competition in Kazan

The mayor of Ilsur Metshin presented the awards to the finalists

The awarding ceremony of the winners of the city stage of the professional skills competition the Teacher of the Year took place in the Moskovsky recreational center. 377 people applied for participation in it, of which 109 teachers from 95 schools and kindergartens qualified to the city stage. The absolute winner was Radik Khabirov, a physics teacher at school № 108. The winners in the nominations will represent the capital of Tatarstan at the republican stage. The awards were presented to the finalists by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

“We are proud of education in Kazan. Teachers have always been and remain the basis of all our achievements. We will closely follow the winners of the competition and help at the republican and federal stages. Together we will make life of the city, as well as the entire country better, but you will be at the forefront,”- Ilsur Metshin addressed the teachers.

On the eve of Teacher's Day, Mayor Ilsur Metshin met with Kazan teachers and discussed at a round table the issues of a modern school. The Mayor announced the decision to increase the amount of grants to young teachers.

Then Ilsur Metshin presented the awards to the finalists of the competition. The city stage was held from November to February. During this time, teachers passed various tests, showing professional skills at the open lessons, educational events, master classes and pedagogical workshops.

The youngest participant of the competition is 22 years old, and the oldest was Valentina Golovushkina, who is now retired. A total of 56 people received awards this year. The competitions were held in 14 categories.

The winner of the competition was Radik Khabirov, who works as a physics teacher at school № 108. He thanked his family for their constant support, as well as the city's leadership for new opportunities. “When I communicate with colleagues from other cities, I am pleased to hear their feedback about our education. I am proud at such moments. For example, one colleague told me that at their pedagogical meetings they always discuss educational approach in Kazan. And it's true. I am proud to be a member of the Kazan education team,”- Radik Khabirov said.
