On May 9, urban public transport in Kazan will work according to working day schedules with the extension of the mode of ground transport operation until 11.30 pm and the metro until midnight. Immediately after the completion of the salute, special buses will be organized to all parts of the city. Municipal parking lots during all holidays from 9 to 12 of May will work for free. Aidar Abdulhakov, the chairman of the Committee on Transport, announced this today at the Business Monday.
As of today, temporary traffic restrictions are being imposed on certain streets in Kazan due to the rehearsals of festive events.
Today, from 5 pm to 11 pm, on May 8 from 5 pm to 9 pm, as well as on May 7 from 5 pm to 11 pm, the traffic pattern of 9 bus routes changes. These are № 6, 15, 29, 35, 35а, 37, 47, 74 and 75 through the streets Pravo-Bulachnaya, Chernyshevsky, Moskovskaya, Tashayak, Said-Galeev, Kirovskaya dam. The movement of the trolleybus route №2 is closed during these hours.
On May 9, during the passage of the Immortal Regiment from Gorky Central Park, the traffic pattern of four bus routes on Karl Marks Street changed: № 22, 28, 28a and 89. Until 1 pm, these buses follow their routes without changing the schemes. Since 1 pm, Karl Marks, Tolstoy, Bolshaya Krasnaya, Baturin streets are excluded from the traffic schemes of the routes. Buses will follow the streets of Vishnevsky, Ostrovsky, Pravo-Bulachnaya, Chernyshevsky, Moskovskaya and Kirovskaya dams. The movement of trolleybus routes № 3, 5, 7 and 8 will be suspended for the period of passage of the “Immortal Regiment” from 1 pm to 6 pm. At the end of the passage, participants will be able to use the metro from the Kremlevskaya station from the Millennium Square, as well as 10 bus routes from the TsUM and Palace of Sports stations.
At the end of the festive salute, special buses will be organized at the stop “Kazan Arena” on Yamashev Prospect to all parts of the city. There will also be additional trams route №5 and trolleybuses №1.
Special bus routes will be organized to all the cemeteries of the city on the parent day, which this year falls on May 7, and on Memorial Day on May 9.
“Traditionally, the city’s transport enterprises have carried out work on the preparation of rolling stock for Victory Day. In total, 385 ground public transport units were repaired, repair works were carried out, bumpers and glass were replaced”, said A. Abdulhakov. “Buses, trams and trolleybuses are additionally decorated with festive notices, and congratulations on the holiday are played on auto-informers”.
From 9 to 12 of May, municipal parking lots located along the road network will work for free, added the chairman of the Committee on Transport.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, instructed to bring information to all residents and guests of the city about the work of public transport on holidays. “The issue of delivery of citizens after the salute must be solved as efficiently and quickly as possible. I hope our transport companies will not fail this time, too”, he said.
Everyone can see and take part in the festivities, as the cultural program covers all districts, parks and squares of the city, added the Mayor.
On Victory Day, more than 120 celebrations will be in Kazan. Residents and guests of the capital of Tatarstan can attend performances, concerts, exhibitions, a festive parade and colorful fireworks at the Kazan Arena.
