May 8: Kazan celebrates Victory

Today, an extensive cultural program has been prepared for the residents of Kazan, within the framework of the celebration of the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Kazan citizens will be able to take part in the Victory Waltz, athletics relay, meetings and other events. The long-awaited opening after reconstruction of the Walk of Military Glory is planned in the residential area Yudino.

The holiday will begin at 9.30 am with the laying of flowers at the monument to the soldiers who fell during the Great Patriotic War in Shcherbakovo Settlement.

At 10 am, meetings will be held at the monuments to the soldiers who fell during the Great Patriotic War. The events will be held in Borisoglebsk Settlement, at the memorial plaques “We remember everyone” A. Bichurin, V. Chuikov, A. Bondarenko, P. Gavrilov, M. Simonov, at the bust to M. Jalil (the school №26), near the obelisk in the territory of OAO “Plant Elecon”, near the obelisk in the territory of PAO “KVZ”, at the memorial plaque of the evacuation hospital №2782.

At the same time, it is planned to start the action “Victory Waltz” on the square near the Kul Sharif Mosque.

From 3.15 pm to 7 pm, the 78th traditional track and field athletics relay will take place at the Central Stadium of Kazan.

At 2 pm, a regional event will be held with the participation of veterans and rear workers in the CLC Lenin.
