60% of tourists in the days of the World Cup lived in Kazan in hotels and hostels, 20% stayed in rented apartments

Only 6.7% of fans came to the capital of Tatarstan without spending the night, mostly guests stayed for 3 days.

(KZN.RU, July 17, Alsu Safina). The tourist branch of Tatarstan completely coped with the loads in the days of the World Cup, said Sergey Ivanov, the chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the RT, today at the briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT. During the World Cup, more than 300 thousand tourists from 36 countries visited Kazan.

S. Ivanov said that about 34% of tourists came to Kazan by train, 39% arrived by plane, about 15% came to the city by private transport, and 7% – by bus. 30% lived in hotels, the same number in hostels. 20% rented apartments, and about 15% stayed with friends and relatives.

“About 30% of tourists came in pairs, 30% with friends, 27% with family and relatives, and only 12.5% came alone”, said the chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the RT. “In general, the fans came without children. 23% of families were here with children, 44% – without them, and 33% of families do not have children yet”.

65.7% of tourists were men. 80% of the guests were between the ages of 24 and 54, that is, the economically active part of society. 69% of the fans were people with higher education, 11.5% were with the incomplete higher education.

Half of the tourists who visited Kazan were in the city for 3 days, 27.5% stayed for 4-7 days, 12.3% – for more than 7 days, 6.7% of fans didn’t even spend the night.

Most of the tourists (95%) visited the sights of Kazan, 29% of the city's guests also visited Sviyazhsk, Bolgar, and the Raifsky Monastery.

93% of those who came to Kazan rated their impressions on 8, 9, and 10 points. The vast majority of tourists either left here with a desire to return or planned another trip to Kazan. 93% plan to recommend Kazan to friends and relatives.

Vladimir Leonov, the minister of Sports of the RT, drew attention to the fact that fans who visited Russia at the World Cup will be able to once again visit the country with the fan-id. According to V. Leonov, many tourists have already expressed interest in upcoming sports events, such as the World Red Bull Air Race and the World Cup in swimming in short water, which will be held in Kazan in August and September.

96% of tourists were delighted with the work of volunteers. Most of the guests appreciated the comfortable environment of Kazan, the work of catering establishments, the transport system, and the level of service in hotels and hostels (8.6 out of 10 points).

The bulk of tourists (70%) used the Internet resources as a source of information, 32% used printed tourist guides and navigation materials, 45% turned to tourist information centers.
