50 doctors working with coronavirus patients will be accommodated at the Suleiman Palace hotel

The Suleiman Palace hotel in Kazan will host 50 medical workers who work with coronavirus patients. Today, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin visited the hotel, talked with doctors accommodated there, and got acquainted with the living conditions.

Currently, at the initiative of the owner of the Suleiman Palace hotel, Suleiman Abunagimov, rooms are provided for accommodation of 16 doctors free of charge. In total, the hotel is ready to provide 25 double rooms.

Doctors limit the possibility of infecting their patients and colleagues

The chief doctor of the Republican Clinical Hospital, Kazan city Duma deputy, Rafael Shavaliyev emphasized that the decision to temporarily stay in a hotel, not at home, was made by the medical workers. “They work around the clock, including with complicated patients. Their relatives, with whom they usually live under the same roof, go out to the street, to the store. Doctors are afraid to get infected from them and thus limit the possibility of infecting their patients and colleagues,”- he explained.

“This is a very serious and responsible decision, we welcome and support it. Now is a very important and responsible time. Medical staff is facing with high demand and, we all have best hope them. Now the professionalism of our doctors, their ability to cope with the situation, not only with medicines, but also with words to support patients become particularly important”, - the Mayor said.

All procedures at the hospital entrances are organized as in operating rooms

R.Shavaliyev also said that doctors check the temperature every day before the start of the working day, make an examination of the throat. Everyone is provided with personal protective equipment.

“It is crucial to take care of yourself and others. All our clinics, which have been selected for treating coronavirus patients by the decision of the Tatarstan Ministry of Health, have a high state of readiness. On the example of the RCH, I saw how professionally the flows are divided, that all the necessary procedures are already organized at the entrance to the hospital as in operating rooms: temperature measurement, disinfection, and the use of personal protective equipment”, - I.Metshin said in turn.

Suleiman Palace is the first hotel in Kazan that provided accommodation for doctors

As for the accommodation of doctors in the hotel, all the necessary conditions are created for them: standard double rooms and catering.

I.Metshin noted that Suleiman Palace is currently the first hotel in Kazan that provided 25 rooms for doctors free of charge.
