5 million meters of Georgian ribbon will be weaved in Kazan for Victory Day

The portal KZN.RU has learned all the secrets of the production of the main symbol of Victory Day.

(KZN.RU, April 19, Alina Berezhnaya). Preparations for the celebration of the 74th anniversary of the Victory Day in Kazan are in full speed. 60 thousand meters of Georgian ribbon is produced daily at the textile factory of OOO “Kvinta”, which is engaged in ribbon production. After that, one of the main symbols of Victory is sent across the country. This year the company plans to release 5 million meters of Georgian ribbon. The portal KZN.RU has learned all the secrets of their production.

Every day in three shifts of 8 hours, weavers create one of the main symbols of Victory Day. They need to weave 5 million meters of Georgian ribbon by May 9. Leila Gainullina, an engineer-technologist at the OOO “Kvinta”, said that the company’s preparation for May 9 began at the end of last year. “We started taking orders for Georgian ribbon in November, so we were ready to work a lot. Now we are entering the home stretch. We produce ribbon not only for Tatarstan, but also for other regions, mainly it is city administrations, large enterprises, and youth movements”, noted L. Gaynullina.

During the day, the company produces 60 thousand meters of ribbon. The main process is automated, but part of the work is done manually. In total, this year, the company purchased 20 tons of polyester yarn for May 9. Their main advantage is that they do not get thin in the sun and do not tear, explained L. Gainullina.

Two workshops are for weaving ribbon. First, the threads are manually pulled on the warping machine, it is important to observe the exact number of threads. So, 174 threads are necessary for a ribbon of 35 mm wide, and 128 threads for one of 25 mm wide.

The finished coils fall into the second workshop, where the orange-and-black threads are woven together and turned into Georgian ribbon.

Weavers work without gloves. They say they feel the material better.

Finished ribbons are cut into strips 30, 40, and 50 cm long with a thermo-jaw, a special machine that prevents the formation of fringe. The machine is fully automated and programmed for a specific length. “Our company has mostly German cars, so flaws are extremely rare, but if problems occur, they are quickly eliminated, production should not be stopped”, said L. Gainullina.

The cut ribbons fall into the hands of packers, they carefully pack 100 pieces in polyethylene, and then in boxes, which are distributed throughout the country. So the Victory symbol falls into the hands of the Russians. Georgian ribbon on the lapel of your jacket on the eve of May 9 is one way to pay tribute to war veterans. The black and orange ribbon gives rise in the hearts of appreciation to the heroes who have passed through pain, battles and trials, and gratitude for the peaceful sky.
