A monument to St. Peter and Fevronia will open in Kazan on November 4

The ceremony will be held on Chistopolskaya Street next to the temple in honor of the holy martyr Kirill, the Metropolitan of Kazan.

(KZN.RU, November 2). On November 4, the monument to the holy Knyaz Peter and Fevronia will be unveiled in Kazan for the Day of National Unity. The monument is located at Chistopolskaya Street, №30, next to the temple in honor of the holy martyr Kirill, the Metropolitan of Kazan.

The order for the creation and installation of the monument was given by Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, on June 6, 2015 at a meeting with representatives of the Russian National Cultural Association of the RT. The Ministry of Culture of the RT held a competition, which received 22 works from 11 participants. The winner of the competition was Peter Dobaev, a Moscow sculptor.

The Russian Orthodox Church honors the memory of Murom's holy spouses Peter and Fevronia. Their marriage is considered a model of marriage. These saints are patrons of the marriage on Rus.
