Five Kazan athletes will represent the RT and the Volga Federal District in competitions.
(KZN.RU, January 29). On January 30, the Kazan Center for Gymnastics will host the grand opening of the Russian Championship in Rhythmic Gymnastics in the individual program. The Republic of Tatarstan will be represented at the competitions by five athletes.
The tournament will gather more than 150 strongest athletes from eight federal districts, as well as Moscow, St. Petersburg, and voluntary sports societies and departments. 75 people will participate in the CMS program, 66 people – in the first adult level program, 13 people – in the second adult level program.
The RT and the Volga Federal District will be represented by students of Kazan rhythmic gymnastics schools: Madina Shamsutdinova and Yulia Smirnova from the sports school “Privolzhanka”, Azalia Shakirova from the youth school “Nika”, Safina Nafikova from the school “Idel”, and Ksenia Fomina from the Gymnastics Center of Yulia Barsukova.
Lala Kramarenko, the winner of three gold medals at the European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics in Spain in June 2018, is also expected to take part in the Russian Championship in the individual program. In addition, young gymnasts will be able to see the performances of the basic composition of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team in the individual program and in group exercises, as well as the country's youth team in group exercises. They will present the programs prepared for the grand prix-2019 in Moscow (February 14-17).
Irina Viner-Usmanova, the President of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, the head coach of the Russian national team, plans to attend competitions in Kazan.
The opening ceremony of the tournament is scheduled for 3.40 pm on January 30. Competitions will be held in the capital of the RT until February 2, reports the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the RT.
