The capital of Tatarstan will join the actions “Night of Cinema” and “Night of Cinematographers”.
(KZN.RU, August 23). On August 25 and 27, there will be four cinema events in Kazan on different sites: the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest, the embankment of the Kaban Lake, and the territory of the Alafuzov Factory.
On August 25, the All-Russian action “Night of Cinema” will be held on the site in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest. The film for screening will be chosen by the audience just before the beginning of the film session. The choice is between the films “Rubezh”, “Tanks”, and “The Last Bogatyr”. The beginning is at 8 pm, the admission is free.
In addition, a traditional Saturday screening of a short meter will be held on the renovated embankment near the Kaban Lake. The theme of the evening will be the presentation of the programs of the X International Youth Film Festival in Kazan. It will be carried out by Adil Khaibullin, the program director of the festival. Spectators and journalists will see films that have become trends in the creative work of young filmmakers. Everyone can participate in the discussion afterward.
The program of the evening includes “Not in shape” (directed by Egor Chichkanov, Russia, St. Petersburg, 2018), “Aidemi” (directed by Zhibek Turdubekova, Kyrgyzstan, 2017), “Last Cruise” (directed by Khristina Belousova, Uzbekistan, 2018), “Ultra Tennis” (directed by Yaroslav Danilov, Russia, Novosibirsk, 2017). On August 27, the Day of Russian Cinema, two special events will be held timed to celebrate a professional holiday for domestic filmmakers.
The first of them will also take place on the Kaban Lake embankment. “Cinema about cinema” is a thematic cycle consisting of short films “Love of Akhat Belyaev”, “Massovka”, and “Time to live, time to die”. The first picture is a documentary film-portrait of a man who created an infrastructure for a film screening in Tatarstan. The second film is about people with ambitions who dream of becoming stars. The director of the picture is Alexander Zubovlenko, a graduate of the ARSIC, He plans to come from Moscow to meet with the Kazan audience. The comedy about the life on the set will finish the evening. The director of the film is Mikhail Polyakov; he will also join the creative meeting with the audience. The beginning of the movie is at 9 pm. The admission is free.
The second action is “The Night of the Movie Eaters”. It a special display of films of a discussion genre and format. Viewers can watch movies and also vote for the ones they like. The best works from Tatarstan, Bashkiria, Siberia, the Caucasus, Yakutia and other regions will compete for the title.
The program includes “Film” (directed by Alexey Barykin, horror,10 minutes), “Republic Z” (directed by Stepan Burnashev, horror with elements of black comedy, 7 minutes 40 seconds), “I eat myself for breakfast” (director: Vadim Valiullin, black comedy, crime, 27 minutes), “#SHOCKOMANIA” (directed by Sergey Koptev, horror with elements of black comedy, 5 minutes 48 seconds), “Revenge” (directed by Ekaterina Kupriyanova, mystical thriller, 19 minutes).
All the guests of “The Night of the Movie Eaters” can attend a master class “String, Scare and Conquer!” by Alexey Barykin, the director of the mystical blockbuster “Water”; the presentation of the new trailer of the psychological thriller “Cachexia”, and an exclusive make-show from Elina Yurasova “The transformation of man into a zombie”, which created the echelon of images for the main actors and extras of the film “Virion”.
The program will be completed by a collection of foreign films in the original language with Russian subtitles.
