About 218 thousand people visited events in honor of the Sabantuy holiday in Kazan, said Alexander Mishchikhin, the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Kazan and the police chief, today during the Business Monday. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Plow Festival was celebrated on Saturday, June 23, in the Berezovaya Roscha of Mirny Settlement and the park near the Svetloe Lebyazhie Lake. Also, the races were held at the Kazan Hippodrome. “Before the start of the festivities, all the sites and adjoining territories were examined by specialists-cynologists with specially trained service dogs for the presence of explosives”, reported the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Kazan. “The posts of the traffic police departments with a total of 142 employees were put up for security and traffic regulation”. </p> <p> </p> <p> He added that an inspection with the use of stationary metal frames, hand metal detectors, tables for laying out things and barriers was organized in the places of the celebration. “A serious role was given to the preparatory measures.
