On April 16, the awarding of the contest “Stars of Hospitality” will take place in Kazan

The best of the best will represent the capital of the RT at the All-Russian stage of the competition of professional skills.

In Kazan, the municipal competition of professional skill among the employees of the enterprises of the tourism, restaurant and hotel industry "Hospitality Stars" has ended. The winners will be awarded tomorrow in the Kazan Town Hall. Finalists will represent Kazan at the All-Russian stage of the competition, Daria Sannikova, director of the Tourism Development Committee, said today on business Monday.

This year the competition was held under the auspices of the upcoming WorldSkills Kazan 2019 championship in two sites. On March 12 and 13, the practical part of the competition in the nominations “Best Waiter”, “Best Cook”, “Best Chef” , “Best Maid”, “Best Restaurant Manager” was held at the hotel complex “Nogai”. On March 14, it took place at the Volga Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.

For 3 days of the practical part of the competition, 25 dishes were prepared, 270 napkins were folded in various ways, 18 tables were served, and 9 new original cocktails were presented. “Competition is a unique opportunity to prove that one employee is the best in the city's hospitality industry. Today the competition in professional skills becomes a regional platform for participants for going to the federal level”, said D. Sannikova. Irina Grishina, the winner of last year’s competition in the nomination “Best Maid”, received the right to participate in the All-Russian professional skill competition. She received an honorary award, the title of “The Best Maid of Russia 2018”. This year, the winners of the three nominations will also have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills at the All-Russian competition.

The prize winners will get a lot of different gifts, including dinner at one of the best restaurants in the city, hotel accommodation with a visit to the SPA, a certificate for advanced training courses, and a cash prize for the first place. Photos of the winners will be placed on media facades and screens of shopping centers and subways.

“It is very important that such a competition is held, and especially, that it has a federal level. Thanks to that, our stars will try their hand at the level of the country. We hope that they will represent Kazan and Tatarstan with dignity”, noted Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.

This year, the competition “Stars of Hospitality” was held in Kazan for the fourth year in a row. About 130 people attended it and competed in 9 categories. The jury of the competition included 39 representatives of the best hotels, restaurants, travel companies of the city, as well as specialists from specialized universities.
