Residents can become volunteers in a large-scale clean-up campaign or participate in mapping unauthorized landfill sites.
(KZN.RU, August 7). Kazan will join the World Day of Purity. A large-scale volunteer public action on cleaning natural and urban areas from garbage will be held on September 15. Residents of the city can join the project team.
The World Day of Purity “Sdelaem!” (Rus. “Let's Do It!”) is a civil project, which goal is to unite the society for the purification of nature from debris and preservation of sustainable purity. The organizers plan to attract 5% of the population. This is a critical mass, allowing to start the snowball effect. 133 countries, including Russia, have already joined the project. In January 2018, 20 million people took part in the action.
There are several ways to join the project, one of which is to take part in mapping unauthorized dumps. You can use the applications World Cleanup or TrashOut: to register, to take a picture of the dump, to specify the size and the type. You can also mark landfills on the websites ecofront.ru, kartasvalok.ru or iGrajdanin.ru.
In addition, you can become a co-organizer of the action by filling out a paper or take part directly in the cleaning. You can read more about this in the action's community. Also, there will be a meeting at the ecological center in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest for those wishing to help in establishing cleanliness in the city of Kazan on August 13 at 6 pm.
