Thirteen construction and reconstruction projects in the historical center have been discussed at the Executive Committee of Kazan

The meeting was held by the Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin.

The meeting of the working group of the Interdepartmental Commission on Urban Development in historical settlements took place at the Executive Committee of Kazan. Thirteen construction and reconstruction projects were presented, twelve of which will be submitted to the Rais (Head) of the republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. One project has been sent for revision. The meeting was held by the Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin.

“The activity among potential investors in the reconstruction of facilities is very high,”- the head of the city noted. In his opinion, this indicates the level of investment attractiveness of Kazan. “The geography of market participants is increasing, companies from Moscow and St. Petersburg are willing to participate in housing construction in the capital of Tatarstan and the Kazan agglomeration. This is good, but at the same time it makes us responsible for the projects we approve. The architectural appearance of the city for the next decade or even a century depends on the decisions we have made,”- Ilsur Metshin noted.

The meeting was attended by Olesya Baltusova, Aide to the Rais of the republic of Tatarstan, Azat Nigmatzyanov, First Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the City for Urban Planning Policy, Svetlana Persova, Associate Professor of the Department of Reconstruction, Restoration of Architectural Heritage and Foundations of Architecture of the Kazan State Architecture and Engineering University, and others.

The chief architect of the city Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina presented 13 projects. The project of an apartment building on Nazarbayeva Street was approved. Since this facility will be located near the new building of the Kamal Theater, the architecture of the house should be appropriate, I. Tukhvatullina stressed. The project was finalized after the comments of the members of the city council, who visited the site many times, where they discussed the location taking into account pedestrian connections.

In addition, the meeting participants got acquainted with the projects of four residential complexes, one multi-apartment and two individual residential buildings, a medical center on Khadi Atlasi Street and a hotel on Gorkogo Street.

The approval of the working group was given to the project of an extension to the Respublika shopping mall on Peterburgskaya Street. “It is very important for us that the authors of the project want to improve the architecture of the entire complex. This is clearly much more interesting than the present appearance,”- commented the Mayor of Kazan.

The project of a commercial building on Khadi Taktasha Street was sent back for revision.

The project of a residential complex on Tukaya Street caused an active discussion. Its authors will need to make changes taking into account the comments of the participants of the working group. It will also be submitted to the Rais of the republic of Tatarstan for consideration.
