(KZN.RU, May 31, Ksenia Shvetsova). On the Children's Day, a presentation of the book “Kazan Legends” will be held in the capital of Tatarstan, which was illustrated by Kazan children. Drawing made by pupils of teenage clubs, art schools, and simply talented children will be united into a single exposition and exhibited in the gallery of the Kazan City Hall.
The book was released as part of a joint project of the young Tatar publishing house “Yulbasma” and the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs. It is a collection of the most famous Tatar legends about Kazan. You can read the legends of Queen Syuyumbike, the winged Zilanth, the treasures of Lake Kaban, the creation of Kazan, and others. In total, the book included 50 works, each was illustrated by the talented children of Kazan.
Airat Faizov, the chairman of the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs, told that from September to March this year, an art contest was held among the children of Kazan. “We received more than 300 works and chose the best 50. They entered the book”, explained A. Faizov. “Residents of the city will be able to see these drawings not only in the book, but also as individual paintings”.
Collection of the most famous legends in Russian and Tatar languages will soon appear on the shelves of bookstores. The book was published in a full circulation of 1500 copies. Each legend in it is written in two languages, Russian and Tatar. The works in Russian were adapted by the famous children's writer Boris Viner.
Presentation of the book “Kazan legends” will be held on June 1 at the Kazan City Hall at 11 am. The children, who took part in the creation of the book, writers, the author-compiler Boris Viner, and others were invited to participate in it.
The drawings will be exhibited in the gallery of the Kazan City Hall for two days, June 1 and 2. Anyone can visit the exhibition.
