Ilsur Metshin inspected the shipment of six trucks with essentials, building materials and a UAZ-car.
The next batch of humanitarian cargo weighing 100 tons was shipped from Kazan to Lisichansk. In six trucks, the residents of the city supported by Tatarstan will receive essentials, pipes for the restoration of water supply and other building materials, a UAZ car, sports equipment, as well as letters from citizens with words of support. The shipment of this year’s second humanitarian cargo was inspected by the Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin.
The centralized collection of humanitarian aid started in Kazan in November 2022. During this time, the central warehouse and collection points received almost 725 tons of cargo from enterprises and residents of the city. “A work on collecting and shipment humanitarian supply for the residents of Lisichansk is underway. The 100-ton cargo is sent with this year’s second humanitarian train. It consists of six heavyweights with essentials. Residents of Lisichansk will also receive letters from Kazan residents and young citizens with warm wishes,”- the head of the city noted.
According to Ilsur Metshin, the needs of residents of the supported territory are changing due to the resumption of water, gas and light supply to their houses. “We are glad that the housing stock is being restored. Now, in addition to long–term storage products, household goods are needed,”- the Mayor said.
The Mayor added that Lisichansk still needs building materials to restore infrastructure. Therefore, along with the essentials, lumber and electrical equipment were sent, as well as 10 tons of plastic and polypropylene pipes. In addition, Lisichansk will receive a UAZ car, which will be used for the needs of the city. New equipment has been sent for the Lisichansk children's sports school. “We will continue this work. This is our humanitarian support to the residents of Lisichansk. Hopefully the peaceful time will continue,” the Mayor stressed.
Ilsur Metshin wished a good journey to the drivers who will deliver the cargo to the city supported by Tatarstan. “The road takes two days. On the way we meet similar trucks with humanitarian aid,”- said one of the experienced drivers, who regularly goes to Lisichansk.
Ten companies from Kazan contributed to the formation of a new batch of humanitarian cargo. The residents of the city do not stand aside either and continue to bring goods to the collection points of humanitarian aid.
Ildar Shakirov, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, and Albert Salikhov, head of the administration of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts, participated in the shipment of humanitarian cargo.
